Funeral service for Billy Lee Eaton, 79, of Chickasha, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ, Chickasha.
Billy Lee Eaton was born July 22, 1931, in Tulsa, the son of John L. and Veral (Warford) Eaton. He died July 26, 2010 in Oklahoma City.
Bill graduated from Wetumka High School and was an All-State quarterback. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict near Heart Break Ridge.
He and Billie Dean Persinger were married February 22, 1953. The celebrated their 57th Anniversary in February. After serving in the U.S. Army, Bill worked in route sales for 35 years. He worked for Frito-Lay for 30 years. After retiring from Frito-Lay, he joined his sons and grandsons in running Jakes Rib for 25 years.
Bill was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. He enjoyed OU Football, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: Great grandson: Cameron Eaton, Parents: John L. and Veral Eaton, 2 brothers: Charles Eaton and Ronnie Eaton, 3 sisters: Lucille Garvin, Dorothy Garvin and Peggy Bates.
Survivors include: Wife: Billie Eaton of the home, 3 sons: Gary Don Eaton of Idabel, OK, Ron Eaton and wife, Marianne, of Chickasha, Terry Eaton and wife, Robin, of Chickasha, Grandchildren: Brandy Eaton Howard, Clint and Lisa Eaton, Brice and Sheena Eaton, Brock Eaton, Tabetha and Gardner Lockwood, Great grandchildren: Analise Eaton, Leighanne Eaton, Finley Lockwood, Brylee Eaton, Maleek and Brennen Owens, Several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
