Funeral service for Wilma Geraldine Carter, 74, of Chickasha, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at the Grand Assembly of God Church.

Wilma Geraldine Carter was born Oct. 2, 1938 in Wheeler, the daughter of William Lonnie and Ida (Patrick) Taylor.  She died Oct. 28, 2012 in Chickasha.

She graduated from Rexroat High School in 1956.  She married Homer Tadlock and had two children, Monty and Michele.  Life changing events led to her marriage to Tony Lambert, II.  They had a son Tony, who  passed away in 1982.  After the death of her husband Tony, Wilma  married Vernon Carter.  They had a daughter Tanya.  Vernon worked in road construction which led to numerous re-locations across the State of Oklahoma.  Wilma began working with C R Anthony Retail Business in 1975 and remained with the company until she retired in 1998 due to health issues.  Over the years, Wilma had earned various awards including Salesman of the year.  She was dedicated to her work and was honored for her willingness to go above and beyond work expectations.  Wilma lost her husband Vernon in 1998, the same year she retired from work.  Her health quickly declined.  She entered Grace Living Center facility in 2006, where she resided to present date.  She enjoyed her stay there and made lasting relationships with the residents as well as the staff.  Wilma lived a life full of compassion and love for others.  

The family would like to thank Grace and the Good Shepherd Hospice Staff for the time and level of care provided to our loved one during her stay.

Wilma was preceded in death by parents, William Taylor and Ida Tipps and stepdad Haskel Tipps; husband:  Tony Lambert II and their son Tony Lambert III; husband:  Vernon Carter; stepdaughter:  Judy Carter; step-granddaughter:  Kelly Carter; step-grandson:  Casey Porter and brothers:  P.R. Taylor and Jerry Taylor

Survivors include son:  Monty Tadlock of Snyder; two daughters: Michele Ashford of Chickasha and Tanya Henson and husband Brad of Roosevelt; two stepdaughters: Ramona Porter of Norman, and Linda Pappas and husband George of Houston, Texas; stepson:  Don Carter of Pampa, Texas; six grandchildren: Jeremy,  Keeley, Natasha, Shelby, Audrey, Karley; five step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.



Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral  Home.

  • Patsy McDonald Rhymes

    Patsy McDonald Rhymes, 62, of Chickasha, beloved wife of Danny Rhymes, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.  She will be greatly missed by a large and loving extended family and many friends.  Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent most of her time caring for her family. 
    She is survived by her husband Danny, her son Starling and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Rochelle and Michael.  Patsy was especially close to her niece Pam and also leaves behind her brothers Charles, Paige, and Roland along with her sisters Thelma and Jeana. 
    Graveside services were held in Hominy,  on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by her longtime family minister, Rev. Leonard Lindsay.  Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
