George Steven Pitner

— Funeral services for George Steven Pitner, of Verden, OK was held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Verden, OK.

George Steven Pitner was born December 8, 1954 in Richmond, California to George Thomas and Nelda Jean (Barr) Pitner.  He passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at his home at the age of 58.

Steve graduated from Verden High School in 1973.  He worked in the oil field from 1974 to 1986.  For 15 years he worked as an aircraft mechanic for Champion Air and Express One in Dallas/Ft. Worth, DFW Airport and Love Field.  Steve returned to the Verden area in 2005.

He married LaRayne McKune on September 28, 1989.

He is preceded in death by his father George Thomas Pitner.

Steve is survivied by His wife, LaRayne Pitner, 3 children:  Steven Pitner and wife Sylvia, Justin Pitner, Tabitha Stephens and husband Eric; His mother:  Nelda Jean Pitner; 4 Grandchildren:  Elizabeth Pitner, Kamryn Pitner, Shane Pitner, Mathew Stephens; 4 sisters:  Linda Ikard,  Mary Carr, Stephanie Herren and Christi Burkitt

Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, OK.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
