— Funeral service for Mearl Gene Clark, 82, of Chickasha, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at the Sharon Baptist Church.

Mearl Gene Clark was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Blanchard, the son of Forrest Lee and Flora (Whinery) Clark.  

He died Aug. 22, 2010, in Oklahoma City.

Mearl graduated from Middleburg Schools.  

He married Dollene on Dec. 22, 1946, in Chickasha.

She preceded him in death May 21, 2010.

Mearl farmed, hauled hay and was a dairy farmer.

He also worked as an electrician for American Iron in Oklahoma City and for Phillips Petroleum.

He was also preceded in death by one son,  Lyndel G. Clark, June 6, 1977; parents; one brother,  Forrest Lee Clark 2004.

Survivors include one daughter,  Rene Durington and husband, George; one son,  Shawn Clark; three sisters, Wilma Henderson Odom, Nadine Adams, Winnie Janes; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
