Donte' McCarther

— Funeral services for Donte' McCarther, 21, of Oklahoma City, will be on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church, 1202 Shepherd St in Chickasha. Rev. Al Walter, pastor, and Rev. Richard Colbert will deliver the eulogy.Visitation is set for Friday, Jan. 27 from 12-6 p.m. at Brown-Christian Funeral Home.

Donte' was born the son of Lolita Colbert and Steve McCarther on Sept. 28, 1990 in Sacramento, Calif. Donte' graduated from Seaworth Academy in 2009 and was a current student at MetroTech where he was studying auto body repair. He died on Jan. 17, 2012

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Colbert, Sr., and his paternal grandmother, Monica R. Downing.

Donte is survived by Caress Fuller and Kimani McCarther of the home; mother Lolita (Donnee) Irvey of Oklahoma City; father, Steven (Carrie Marable) McCarther, Sr. of Lawton; great-grandmother, Edna Sargent Gatewood of Chickasha; grandmothers Anna L. Colbert and Rose Johnson-Wrenn, both of Oklahoma City; brothers, Darius Colbert and Steven McCarther Jr., both of Okalhoma City; Rashad McCarther of San Diego, Calif.; children, Rayshawn McCarther, twins Devorionne and Devoriante Ceaser, all of Oklahoma City; aunts, Brenda Connors, Anna Fay (Robert) Knowles, Claudette (Rev. Gregory) Richardson, Tonya (Ron) Belton, Sherri (James) Frierson, Kimberly (Mark) Carson, Nicole Sheree (Eric) Benson, Michio Irvey, Cheryl Rogers-Newton, Schelisa Rogers, Denise Rogers and Aretha Rogers; uncles, Harold Williams, Jeffery (Marsha) Hall; Rev. Richard (Barbara) Colbert, Victor (Yolanda) Colbert, Richard McCarther and Kevin Troy Rogers; a host of cousins friends, and classmates.
