ROBERT HUBER "BOB" WEIDENMAIER

CHICKASHA — Services for Robert Huber "Bob" Weidenmaier, 83, of Fort Cobb will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 27, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Fort Cobb with the Rev. Tim Trujillo, pastor, officiating. Mr. Weidenmaier was born September 16,1926 in Oklahoma City to Emil & Delma (Daigh) Weidenmaier and passed from this life on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his mother; his brother, William D. (Bill); his step-mother, Loleet; his father and his wife of 57 years.

He was married to Paula Jean McAdoo on September 2, 1950 in El Reno where they lived until moving to Fort Cobb  in 1953. After retirement, their summer home became  the Idlewild Mountain community in Eagle Nest, New Mexico, where they made many dear friends known as their mountain family. Mr. Weidenmaier grew up and attended school in Fort Cobb. Upon graduating from high school he enlisted in  the U.S. Navy, serving as a radioman in Guam during WWII. After serving in the Navy, he attended and graduated from Oklahoma A & M College with a business degree. Bob was owner of E.B. Weidenmaier & Son department store in Fort Cobb and Mountain View. He was active in The community serving on the Board of Education and the Fair Board. He was a longtime member of the Rotary Club, receiving the Paul Harris Fellow Award. At the time of his death he was serving on the Board of Directors at Washita Valley Bank and a member of the First Christian Church. Bob was a faithful member serving as deacon, elder and Sunday School teacher until the church was closed. At that  time he moved his church membership to the United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and was one the original five members of the "Old Geezers". He was an avid supporter of OSU sports.

Survivors include three daughters: Kay Smith &  husband, Ray of Stillwater, Keri Repp & husband, Rodney of Fort Cobb and Kendra Schenk & husband, Alan of Chickasha; one son, Bobby Weidenmaier & wife, Lorrie of Fort Cobb; seven grandchildren: Amber Parker & husband, Barry of Fort Cobb, Shannon Smith & fiancee', Kris Hanberry of Dallas, Texas, Kelby Weidenmaier & wife, Shayna of Fort Cobb, Kyle Schenk & wife, Lisa of  Chickasha, Korey Schenk & wife, Alyssa of Berry, Alabama,  Kody Schenk of Verden and Brandon Smith of Stillwater; his great grandchildren: Camden Parker, Kylar & Konnar Weidenmaier and David Repp all of Fort Cobb, Christopher Dones  of Weatherford, Blake Iverson & Boston Schenk of Chickasha; one brother-in-law, Don McAdoo of North Pole, Alaska; one sister-in-law, Coleta Stinson of Faye; special friends, Marcella Stockton of Fort Cobb & Jack Davis of Amarillo, Texas.

Burial will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Cobb. Services are under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers and gifts family requests donations be made to the Youth Fund at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, or Idlewild Community Church, in Eagle Nest, New Mexico, 87718.
