Funeral service for Ellen Ruth Clift, age 80, of Chickasha will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Ron Blankinship will officiate, Ron Taylor and David Perryman will assist.

Ruth was born the daughter of William Taylor and Cleo Zwingle Taylor on Dec. 5, 1931, in Chickasha. She died on July 20, 2012, in Oklahoma City.

Ruth grew up in the Lindsay/Bradley area and graduated from Bradley High School. She attended Draughns Business School in Oklahoma City then began working as a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America. She then worked as a church secretary for 30 years. Ruth married Truman Clift on May 29, 1953, in Oklahoma City and moved to Chickasha in 1962. Ruth and Truman enjoyed 59 years of marriage during which they were blessed with five children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. She was a very faithful Christian who was devoted to the Lord and the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Cleo Taylor; three brothers JB, Lloyd and Buford Taylor; two sisters Fern Larabee and Wilma Painter; and one grandchild, Emily Marie Juarez.

Survivors include: Husband: Truman Clift of the home, Daughter and husband: Vicki and Phil Bauman of Chickasha, Daughter and husband: Phyllis and Kevin Hamilton of Chickasha, Daughter: Christi Wood of Chickasha, Daughter and husband: Gina and Eddy Juarez of Chickasha, Son and wife: Kent and Lori Clift of Chickasha, Grandchildren: Amy and Dustin Wynn; Stacey and Matt Sanders; Abby Bauman; Nathan and Nicole Bauman; Garret Wood and Bonnie; Lauren Day; Lanie Gallimore; Kailey and Kieley Clift; Sierra Hamilton, Great Grandchildren: Allison and Dylan Wynn; Lexi, Leah and Kade Bauman; Alyssa, Keaton and Kynlee Day; and Karsyn Gallimore, Sister: Betty English of Lindsay, Brother and wife: Harold and Barbara Taylor of Lindsay, Brother and wife: Gerold and Barbara Taylor of Lindsay, Brother and wife: Boice and Peggy Taylor of Quinlan, Texas, Brother and wife: Ronnie and Charlotte Taylor of Durant, Brother and wife: Wesley and Alvita Taylor of Madill, Brother and wife: Danny and Sue Taylor of Lindsay.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.

  • Patsy McDonald Rhymes

    Patsy McDonald Rhymes, 62, of Chickasha, beloved wife of Danny Rhymes, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.  She will be greatly missed by a large and loving extended family and many friends.  Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent most of her time caring for her family. 
    She is survived by her husband Danny, her son Starling and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Rochelle and Michael.  Patsy was especially close to her niece Pam and also leaves behind her brothers Charles, Paige, and Roland along with her sisters Thelma and Jeana. 
    Graveside services were held in Hominy,  on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by her longtime family minister, Rev. Leonard Lindsay.  Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

  • Lois Morris

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
