CHICKASHA —
Chickasha Lady Chicks JV and Junior High teams lost in two straight games out of three, but both teams were close to taking one game against the Clinton Lady Red Tornadoes.
The JV team was the closest of the two teams, bringing a 17-25 decision during game one and a 19-25 decision for game two. In game two the JV team had taken an 8-1 lead off several aces, but momentum switched when Clinton tied it back up after rattling off seven straight points.
The Lady Chicks were behind the rest of the game, but tried to mount a comeback in game two getting as close as two points, before Clinton pulled off the victory in two sets.
The Junior High Lady Chicks tried their hand on getting a win in their matchup against Clinton Junior High, but lost two games both with the finals of 18-25.
For the Chicks it was an effort, which was close, but the team never got the lead in either set.
The next games for the Lady Chick Junior High will be on Aug. 18 when they host their tournament, while the JV teams will be traveling for a tournament at Cameron on the Aug. 18.
