The Amber-Pocasset High School baseball team started the 2012 fall season off with a win over Chattanooga.
The Panthers won the five-inning contest 4-0, getting a complete-game shutout from senior pitcher Ryan Cauthen.
Am-Po only managed three base hits in the game: a single by Dylan Hargus, a single by Ethan James, and a double by Chase Loggins.
Most baserunners for the Panthers came by way of six walks. Denton Lowe got an RBI on a 4-3 groundout, Hargus and James earned an RBI each on singles, and Levi Scott drove in one run with a sacrifice bunt.
Top Performers
Ryan Cauthen pitched five innings, struck out five batters and allowed three hits in the victory.
Ethan James went 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base.
Chase Loggins went 1-for-1 with the Panthers' only extra-base hit of the contest. Loggins hit a double on his first at-bat.
