The Minco Bulldogs barely edged out a 40-39 victory Monday night against the Dibble Demons during the final game of the first day of the Grady County Tournament at Minco High School.
Minco (4-10) ended the first half with a 24-11 lead, but saw the momentum shift at the beginning of the third quarter.
Dibble used a full-court press that forced Minco to play at an uncomfortable tempo and caused multiple turnovers in the second half.
Even though the Demons outscored the Bulldogs by 11 points in the second half, Minco still pulled off a victory, with the help of junior shooting guard Blake Schneberger, who lead the team with 26 points. Schenberger also scored the game-winning points, hitting two free throws with 45 seconds to play.
Dibble inbounded the ball, and despite taking two timeouts and two shots, could not sink a game-winner, giving Minco the win.
The Bulldogs will take on the winner of the game between Amber-Pocasset and Ninnekah at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
