USAO men, women can't break losing streaks

— The USAO men's basketball team lost to Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday evening in Shawnee, Okla.

The 61-53 loss drops the Drovers' record to 8-4, 1-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. USAO has lost three games in a row.

Guard Norris Rumph was USAO's leading scorer with 13 points. Center Brandon Cutler scored 11.

Oklahoma Baptist had four players in double figures: Hayden Darst with 14, and Clinton Houston, Marques Anderson and David Johnson with 10 points each.

The Drovers' next game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday at home against Wayland Baptist.

The USAO women's basketball team lost to Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday in Shawnee, Okla.

The Drovers lost 58-52, and currently have a record of 9-7, and 0-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The USAO women have lost four games in a row.

Rocio Medrano led the Drovers in scoring with 14 points. Paige Pulliam added 11. Tashina Ototivo had only five points, but led the team with nine rebounds.

Neither team shot well in the game. USAO shot 29 percent from the field, and Oklahoma Baptist shot only 30 percent.

The Drover women are scheduled to host Wayland Baptist at 6 p.m. Thursday.
