Chickasha's Willets signs with Baker University

CHICKASHA —

Chickasha High School soccer goalkeeper Jeral Willets officially signed to attend and play soccer at Baker University on Monday afternoon at the Chickasha High School Activity Center.

"It feels really good," Willets said. "I've been waiting all year to finally sign. I visited the school in January. Wanted to sign in February, but they couldn't get me the papers in time."

The campus of Baker University is located in Baldwin City, Kan. The men's soccer team is coached by Nate Houser.

The Wildcats posted a 20-2-1 record in 2011, advancing to the NAIA Final Four.

Willets said he expects to contribute to the team right away, and enjoyed the time he spent with his future teammates on his visit.

"I felt like I fit in perfectly, and that they were all just like me," Willets said.

Willets said he hopes to study meteorology when he begins classes at Baker.
