Fall sports approach in Grady County

Chickasha High School softball and volleyball teams begin practice today, with only two weeks remaining until the regular season openers for both teams.

The Lady Chicks volleyball team will host the Oklahoma City Storm on Aug. 9, while the softball girls will begin play in the Chisholm Trail Tournament at Tuttle Aug. 9-11.

Alex High School softball opens August 7 with a home game against Dibble at 4:30.

Tuttle softball plays in the Tuttle Festival beginning August 6.

Ninnekah visits Verden for its softball opener August 9 at 4 p.m., and the Owls baseball team will open its season in the Red Dirt Festival at home August 10 and 11.

Bridge Creek will play at Tuttle on Aug. 7 for the Bobcats softball season opener at 5:30 p.m.

Blanchard will travel to Cache for their softball season opener at 5:30 p.m. August 7, before playing in Tuttle's Chisholm Trail Tournament August 9-11 along with the Lady Chicks and Lady Tigers.

Football is just around the corner as well, with scrimmages set to start during the third week of August and regular season games starting around August 31.

Two-a-days for football teams can begin August 7.
