CEMENT – Micah Briscoe scored a game-high 17 points and Dalton Forsyhe added 14, leading Cement to a 53-44 comeback victory here Friday over Ninnekah.
With Briscoe and Forsyhe missing the mark early, the Bulldogs needed nearly 12 minutes before their offense thawed, but Cement was hot when it did.
The Bulldogs scored just six points in the first quarter and trailed 16-6 midway through the second stanza before clawing their way back into the game.
A lay-in by Briscoe with four minutes left in the first half triggered an 11-6 Cement run, and by intermission the Bulldogs had cut the deficit to 2.
Cement opened the second half with a 12-1 spree and built a seven-point lead five minutes into the second half.
Ninnekah made a run and cut the deficit to two in the third quarter but never retook the lead or tied the game.
Briscoe scored nine of his 17 points in the second half, as Cement rolled past the Owls. Kaleb Bain came off the bench and figured in big during the Bulldogs run. For the first five minutes of the second half, Bain dominated the middle and scored six of the Bulldogs first12 points after intermission.
Ninnekah Sophomore Matt Creel dominated the first half, scoring all 10 of his points during the first two quarters. Cameron Bickerstaff paced Ninnekah with 15 points and Brandon Egbert added 11, including nine in the second half.

Amber Chaney scored a game-high 23 points and Annesha Kirk added 22, but it was the Lady Owls defense that set the tone early in the game.
Ninnekah's full-court zone press harassed Cement into 10 turnovers in the first quarter and eventually built an 8-point lead late in the stanza.
But Cement answered with 12-4 run of its own and took a brief lead midway through the second quarter. The game remained close through the third quarter, but Ninnekah erupted for 28 points in the fourth period to close out the victory.
Chaney shot 53 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line to lead Ninnekah. She also led the Lady Owls with 7 rebounds. Kirk made good on 50 percent of her field goal attempts and 53 percent of her free throws. Paige Allen made nine steals to pace Ninnekah, which finished with 23 steals.
Katie Cogburn scored 20 points, including 9 in the fourth quarter, to lead Cement. Jordan Fraizer scored 10 of her 12 points in the first half.
