CHICKASHA —
The Chickasha Junior High baseball team begins play in its final tournament of the summer today at the Freshman Red Dirt Championship.
The Fightin' Chicks will be playing in the Moore High School bracket, and are set to face one of the two home teams in the first game.
Moore 2 will play Chickasha at 5 p.m. today, with the winner advancing to play Mustang at 7:30 p.m.
The loser of that first game will play Friday at 5 p.m. with a chance to advance through the loser's bracket to the championship game.
Games will continue Saturday, and the championship game will be played at 12:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Other teams playing at Moore High School include Carl Albert, Norman, Tecumseh, and Moore.
Carl Albert plays Norman at 2:30 p.m. today, and Tecumseh plays Moore 1 at noon Thursday.
On the other side of the bracket, teams will be playing at Deer Creek High School.
The Oklahoma City Broncos play Midwest City High School at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Yukon High School plays Putnam City High School at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Harrah High School plays Piedmont High School at noon Thursday.
The winner between Oklahoma City and Midwest City will advance to play Deer Creek at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
After tournament play ends at the Red Dirt Championship, Chickasha has two doubleheaders left. July 5, the Chicks host Edmond Memorial starting at 6 p.m., and July 6 the Chicks travel to Edmond for a 6 p.m. start.
