Lady Chicks place fifth at Millwood Tourney

— After losing in the first round of the Millwood Falcon Invitational to Mount Saint Mary, The Chickasha High School girls basketball team responded by winning its next two games to finish fifth in the tournament.

The Lady Chicks beat Ardmore 54-31 on Friday in the consolation bracket, and then went on to beat Putnam City West in the consolation final 53-30.

The Chickasha girls are now 3-2 after the tournament, and ranked No. 14 in class 5A.

Dominique Golightly was the team's leading scorer during Saturday's game, scoring 20 points.

Alex Stewart scored 12 points, Kieley Clift scored 10, Brooklin Burns, Chloe Reyes and Jackie Ramos scored two each.

"We played great team defense and shared the ball well," head coach Christy Edelen said. "It was a fun game, and PC West is athletic."

Chickasha played Western Heights on the road Tuesday night, and is scheduled to face Elgin on the road at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18.
