Five Drovers named All-Conference

CHICKASHA — Five Drover women were named All-Sooner Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon.

Freshman Linda Addo and senior Calli Cooper were named All-Conference First Team forwards while senior Taylor Fain was named n All-Conference First Team defender.

Senior Jordyn Yates and freshman Ryah Vyse were named All-Conference Second Team.

“I’m very pleased to see our players represented on the All-Conference list,” Coach Jimmy Hampton said. “Taylor Fain, Calli Cooper and Jordyn Yates have had great careers here, and they will be missed!”

Linda AddoAs a redshirt freshman, Addo was named All-Conference First Team. She led the team with 15 goals, which ranks her fifth in the SAC and 41st in the NAIA.

She had two hat tricks and four multiple goal games throughout the season. Additionally, she had three assists. Addo tied teammate Cooper with three game-winning goals on the season.

“Linda Addo had a tremendous year as a redshirt freshman,” Hampton said. “We look forward to her doing great things in the next three years.”

She was named SAC Player of the Week on Nov. 5.

Addo is a math and economics major from Tema, Ghana. She is the daughter of Owusu Addo.

Calli Cooper

Cooper collects her third All-Conference First Team honors after another stunning performance with seven goals and eight assists on the season. She ties Addo in game-winners with three.

Cooper is third in the conference in assists this season.

In four years at USAO, Cooper leads the Drovers in every career offensive category. She’s had 72 goals, 36 assists, 20 game-winning goals, 20 multiple-goal games and five hat tricks in her career.

She is a two-time NAIA All-America Honorable Mention. In 2009, she was named SAC Newcomer of the Year.

Cooper is a business administration senior from Norman. She is the daughter of Len and Traci Cooper.

Taylor FainA fourth strong season out of Fain earns her a fourth All-Conference honor and third All-Conference First Team honor. She previously had been named First Team in 2010 and 2011 and Second Team as a freshman.

Fain had four goals, five assists and two game-winners this season.

Fain comes in second to teammate Cooper in the USAO record books for career assists with 35. She has scored 28 goals for the Drovers, including six game-winners in her career.

Fain graduated from USAO in April but returned and re-enrolled this semester to finish her athletic eligibility with the Drovers.

She is a speech pathology graduate from Edmond and the daughter of Tim and Erica Fain.

Jordyn Yates

Also finishing her fourth season with the Drovers, Yates was named All-Conference Second Team.

Yates has played in nearly every game for the Drovers in her four years. Mostly playing defense, she had one assist this season.

In her career, she’s had three goals and six assists.

This is the first time Yates has earned All-Conference honors.

She is an elementary education senior from Midlothian, Texas. She is the daughter of Max and Liz Yates.

Ryah VyseVyse is USAO’s only newcomer to be named All-Conference this season. The defender from Hertfordshire, England, came in and immediately saw starts in every game of the season.

Dangerous with the headers, she has scored five goals this season, which actually puts her third on the team in most goals. Additionally, she had two assists.

She was the team’s starting center back and helped hold the line to keep goals away from the keeper’s hands.

She is a physical education and psychology freshman and the daughter of Mark and Sharon Vyse.
