Lindsay caught in Blanchard area

BLANCHARD — Dillon Lindsay, a Grady County Jail convict who escaped yesterday from a clinic close to Grady Memorial Hospital, has been apprehended and returned to custody according to the Chickasha Police Department.

A press release from the Grady County Sheriff's department detailing the arrest was released around 1:45 p.m. today. The release reads as follows.



"The chase for escapee Dillon Lindsay ended this morning after Lt. Roy Spratt, along with Deputy Sean Knight and Deputy Phil Blevins, with the assistance of two Blanchard Police Officers were able to capture him as he was attempting to go to a house of a friend. Lt. Spratt had Deputies watching several houses around the area, waiting to see if he would attempt to go to one of them. Lindsay had escapeed from a jailer with the Grady County Law Enforcement Center while being taken to seek medical attention. Chickasha Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Grady County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with other area law enforcement agencies including Ninnekah and Amber Police Departments immediately set up a perimeter, went door to door searching for Lindsay and warning citizens about the escape. The search continued throughout the night, as Lindsay stole a vehicle in the Friend area and officers pursued him, Lindsay bailed from the vehicle and took off on foot. Grady County Sheriff's Deputies and Amber Police Department pursued him, and called out Air One from Oklahoma City to assist by air. The search ended when Lindsay attempted to go to the home of his friend, approximately five miles from Bridge Creek school and was arrested. Additional charges will be filed on Lindsay."
