Chicks place second in first swim meet

CHICKASHA — The Chickasha High School swimming team got its season underway with a meet against Edmond Santa Fe, Duncan and Marlow at the USAO pool.

Both the boys and the girls teams finished second in overall scoring. Edmond Santa Fe won both sides.

Girls results: The 200 medley team of Kylie Foster, Bailey Bryan, Caitlin Critchfield and Madison Rivas finished second. The same four girls finished second in the 200 freestyle relay.

In the 400 freestyle relay, Greta Crowl, Ashli Taylor, Hailie Luther and Kristen Kern finished third.

Bailey Bryan finished second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 freestyle. Kristen Kern finished fourth in the 200 freestyle and third in the 100 breaststroke.

Hailie Luther finished fifth in the 200 freestyle. Madison Rivas finished third in the 50 freestyle. Caitlin Critchfield finished fifth in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 butterfly. Kylie Foster finished fourth in the  100 backstroke. Greta Crowl finished fifth in 100 backstroke.

Boys results: The boys relay team of Andrew Ross, Kale Nye, Russell Jobe and Dale Courtney finished third in the 200 medley and first in the 200 freestyle relay.

A team of Nye, Nils Michael, John Allen and Nathan Stewart finished third in the 400 freestyle relay.

John Allen finished third in the 200 freestyle and fourth in the 100 breaststroke. Nathan Stewart finished fourth in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 100 backstroke. Bryan Luther finished fifth in the 200 freestyle. Andrew Ross finished fifth in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 backstroke. Russell Jobe finished fourth in the 100 freestyle. Dale Courtney finished fourth in the 100 backstroke. Kale Nye finished third in the 100 backstroke.

The Chicks' next meet is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at the USAO pool against Ada and Shawnee.
