Chickasha freshmen fall to Noble

CHICKASHA — The Chickasha High School freshman team played a make-up game Monday at home against Noble High School and lost to the Bears.

The Fightin' Chicks lost 20-8 in their last game of the season.

Kyle McNatt scored Chickasha's only touchdown of the game in the first quarter, and at the end of one quarter the Chicks were tied at eight.

In the second quarter, the two teams took turns turning the ball over.

Chickasha lost the ball on a fumble with 6:30 left in the second quarter,

The Fightin' Chicks got the ball back soon after, when Chase Stalnaker recovered a fumble and returned it to the Chickasha 39 yard line, stopping a good Noble drive.

Noble took the lead with a touchdown run late in the third quarter, but didn't convert on the two-point conversion, making the score 14-8.

Chickasha drove down the field on the next drive and was able to get as close as the Noble five-yard line, but the Bears intercepted a pass by Cory Evans in the end zone.

Noble put the finishing touches on the victory with 2:39 left in the game, scoring on a 23-yard run to go up 20-8.

CORRECTION: The story originally mistakenly identified the player who recovered the fumble as Damon Miller in the sixth paragraph, when it was Chase Stalnaker who recovered the fumble. We apologize for the mistake.
