Chicks host undefeated Warriors

CHICKASHA — The Chickasha High School boys basketball team has won three games in a row since losing a disappointing opener against Noble at home Nov. 30.

The 3-1 Fightin' Chicks have beaten Elgin twice and Western Heights once.

The Western Heights win proved that Chickasha could play with teams more athletic than themselves, but the Anadarko Warriors will present a different challenge when they come to Chickasha tonight.

"They're an excellent, excellent basketball team, No. 3," head coach Bryan Merritt said. "If we come out how we did [against Elgin] in the first five or six minutes, they'll put us away by 20. They're really disciplined and they play really hard, and they'll never beat themselves."

Anadarko is 4-0, and is winning its games by an average of 32 points per game.

"We can't start out slow. We started out a little slow against Elgin," E.J. Golightly said. "They've got a good coach, so they're going to be ready."

The game is scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m. tonight at the Chickasha High School Activity Center.
