USAO women beat Texas Wesleyan

— The USAO women’s basketball team beat Texas Wesleyan on Monday afternoon in the Drovers’ first game in almost three weeks at Sid Richardson Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

USAO beat the Rams 68-58, and advanced to 9-3 this season after handing Texas Wesleyan its second loss of the season, dropping the Rams to 10-2.

Rocio Medrano was USAO’s leading scorer with 22 points, and she also had six rebounds. Rashelle Carr scored 13 points, and Paige Pulliam and Ndeye Ngom each scored 10 points.

Texas Wesleyan’s leading scorer was Carneisha Sims with 17 points. Kayla McCray scored 12 points and Takoia Larry scored 11 for the Rams.

USAO led for most of the game, with Texas Wesleyan last leading at 11-10 with about 13 minutes left in the first half.

The Drovers’ next game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at home against No. 14 Rogers State.

The USAO men’s basketball team is currently 7-1, and last played on Dec. 1 when the Drovers beat Northwood University 77-64. The USAO men will play at 8 p.m. Thursday against No. 9 Rogers State at home.
