Sooner Tumbling 20 year celebration

CHICKASHA — When Jim and Donna Stewart opened Sooner Tumbling in January of 1993, many local people asked them "and just how long do you plan to stay in town?"  Their response was "for as long as Chickasha and the surrounding areas support us!"  Twenty years later, Grady County is still entrusting their children to Sooner Tumbling to learn tumbling, coordination, and confidence.  To celebrate,  Sooner Tumbling will be hosting a 20 yr. anniversary celebration this Saturday, Jan. 5th, from noon til 4 p.m. in their new location at 423 W. Chickasha Ave.  Refreshments, prizes and drawings will be held.  The new inflatable will be set up for kids to enjoy as well.  Everyone is invited to the open house from noon til 4.  However, children will not be allowed to play unless you have a registration form on file.   Parents must stay on the premises if their child chooses to play.  No drop-offs allowed.

Sooner Tumbling originally opened their doors at 1227 S. 4th St. in Chickasha.  That location served them well until just recently when the building sold.  They know that the new location at 423 W. Chickasha Ave. was an answer to a lot of prayers and are excited to have a more kid-friendly building.  A lot of work has been done on the new building, and the Stewart's appreciate all of those that came forward to help with the move.  The new building has central heat and air which is a definite plus.  "We won't be keeping it the same temperature as our homes, but we will try to keep it comfortable"  says Donna Stewart.  "The central heat and air definitely will help with the summer and winter months."  Sooner Tumbling is now offering kids birthday parties.  More info about birthday parties can be found on the website at www.soonertumbling.com.  Sooner Tumbling has always had requests for birthday parties, but didn't feel they could offer them because of not having central heat and air.  They have already hosted one party in December and the kids had a great time playing on the equipment and the inflatable.  The new location has a mezzanine and the parents are welcome to observe from the mezzanine which gives you total viewing access.  Parking downtown has not been a problem.  There are always parking spaces close by as Chickasha Ave. is winding down at about the same time as Sooner Tumbling opens in the late afternoon.  All in all...it's just a great building and image for our program according to Mrs. Stewart.

Sooner Tumbling offers a variety of programs.  They offer recreational tumbling and trampoline classes for ages 3 and older.  This includes a lot of girls trying out for cheerleading and girls from various school cheer squads, as well as boys and girls of all ages just wanting to learn and have fun.  Boys also take tumbling to improve their strength, agility, and body awareness for other sports.  Sooner Tumbling is also well know for their competitive tumbling and trampoline program.  Sooner Tumbling has coached a total of 216 National Champions.  Most of these were from the Grady Co. area.  A lot of success has been seen in the last 20 yrs. and the Stewart family would like to thank Grady County for all the years of support, and look forward to many years to come.  Winter classes begin next week.
