Grady County Tournament kicks off in Minco next week

— The 2013 Grady County Basketball Tournament is set to begin Monday, with the Minco boys and Amber-Pocasset girls teams out to defend their titles.

The tournament will feature four games per day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and six games on Saturday, all at Minco High School.

The tournament field is the same as last year, including Amber-Pocasset, Ninnekah, Verden, Dibble, Minco, Alex, Oklahoma Christian Academy and Rush Springs.

Monday, Verden's girls will play Dibble at 4 p.m., followed by the Rush Springs boys playing Alex at 5:30 p.m.

The Alex girls will play Minco at 7 p.m., and the day ends with the Minco boys playing Dibble at 8:30 p.m.

Tuesday will start with the Rush Springs girls playing OCA at 4 p.m., followed by the Verden boys playing OCA at 5:30 p.m.

The Amber-Pocasset girls will play Ninnekah at 7 p.m., followed by the Am-Po boys against the Owls at 8:30 p.m.

Last season, the Amber-Pocasset Lady Panthers won the tournament for the seventh year in a row, beating Verden in finals.

The Minco Bulldogs beat the Am-Po boys team in the finals to win the tournament last year.
