CHICKASHA — Afrisa Wyvonne Anderson and Brian Alexander Gardner exchanged wedding vows at 12 p.m. July 10 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lawton with Pastor Dr. Willie B. Smith officiating.

Parents of the bride are Dr. Will and Cynthia W. Anderson of Chickasha. She is the granddaughter of Loretta Y. Jackson and the late Ret. Sgt. 1st Class Harold W. Jackson of Chickasha; and the late Ezekiel and Corrine Anderson of Lawton. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Clarence and Lillie Bell Blunt of Chickasha; and the late Maurice Jackson and Hattie M. Brown of Amarillo, Texas.

The bridegroom is the son of Ret. Maj. Jacky and Carol Gardner of Lawton. He is the grandson of the late Ret. Master Sgt. Marshall and Lillie Williams; and Emily Gardner and the late SPC Arthur Gardner, all of Lawton.

Ceremony attendants included Dr. Jamie Polk and soloist was Dr. Will Anderson with Sallye Hall, piano accompanist. Ceremony music was provided by the Oklahoma Strings Quartet of Oklahoma City.

Assistants at the Cameron University CETES Conference Center reception included Kim Scioneaux and Dr. Jamie Polk.

Prenuptial events included a bachelorette party hosted by Devon Shannon; a bridal shower hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; a bridal shower hosted by Bethlehem Baptist Church, Dr. Jamie Polk and Ora Fitzgerald; and a bridal shower hosted by Susan Cox and the Carriage Hills Elementary Staff.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Lawton. The bride is employed as a teacher with Lawton Public Schools, and the bridegroom is a student at Cameron University, majoring in Accounting and employed as a youth counselor at Sequoyah Enterprises.
