Two local baseball tourneys begin today

CHICKASHA —  

As the summer baseball season draws nearer to its conclusion, the Chickasha junior high and high school baseball teams have a busy couple of days of tournament play ahead.

The junior high team will join two Tuttle squads, Kingfisher, Piedmont, Blanchard, Southmoore and Western Heights in the Chickasha Rookie Tournament.

Games are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. today with Kingfisher playing Tuttle 2. Tuttle 2 will then play Piedmont at 11:15 a.m., and Piedmont will play Chickasha at 1:30 p.m.

Tuttle 1 faces off against Blanchard at 3:45, Blanchard plays Western Heights at 6 p.m. and Southmoore will play Western Heights at 8:15 p.m.

Chickasha High School opens up the Postseason Red Dirt Tournament today as well, playing the Oklahoma City Broncos at 3 p.m.

The Broncos are scheduled to play Mustang at 5:15, and at 7:30 p.m. Mustang will play Chickasha.

Both tournaments are scheduled to run through Sunday, June 24.
