County tournaments near conclusion

CHICKASHA — Alex Longhorn Classic

Alex girls lost to Stratford 46-38 on Thursday. Cement girls beat Empire 44-39.

The Ninnekah boys lost to Paoli 55-46 on Thursday. Stratford JV beat Empire 44-40.

Stratford will play Empire at 6:30 p.m. Saturday for the tournament championship. Alex will play Cement at 3:50 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game.

The Ninnekah High School boys lost 55-46 to Paoli on Thursday. Stratford JV beat Empire 44-40.

Ninnekah will play Empire at 11:50 a.m. Saturday in the seventh-place game. Stratford JV will play Paoli at 2:30 p.m. in the consolation championship for fifth place.

Friday's semifinal games were between Alex and Fox at 8 p.m. and Cement and Stratford at 5:20 p.m. Winners advance to the title game, scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, and losers play at 5:10 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game.

Black Diamond Classic at Rush Springs

The Rush Springs girls basketball team beat Velma-Ama 51-43 on Thursday in the tournament semifinals, and will play Sterling in the championship game Saturday. Sterling advanced by beating Central Marlow 43-24.

Central Marlow will play Velma-Alma in the third-place game.Bray-Doyle played Dibble and Apache played Elmore City in the consolation semifinals Friday to determine who advances to the fifth-place consolation championship.

The Rush Springs boys team lost to Elmore City, 66-40 on Thursday, and will play Bray-Doyle in the seventh-place game on Saturday.

Dibble will play Elmore City for fifth-place on Saturday. The Demons beat Bray-Doyle 41-26.

Sterling played Central Marlow and Apache played Velma-Alma on Friday in the semifinals.

Bethel CD Warehouse Classic

The Bridge Creek High School girls beat Newcastle 41-27 in the first round of the tournament Thursday. The Lady Bobcats played Perkins-Tryon on Friday afternoon in the semifinals.

Other girls bracket scores from Thursday: Heritage Hall beat Word of Life 72-23. Bethel beat Seminole 59-23. Perkins-Tryon beat Little Axe 65-21.

Seminole played Word of Life, Little Axe played Newcastle, and Bethel played Heritage Hall on Friday.

The Bridge Creek boys lost 51-30 to Heritage Hall in the first round Thursday. The Bobcats played Perkins-Tryon at 3 p.m. Friday in the consolation bracket.

Other boys scores from Thursday: Bethel beat Little Axe 54-27, Byng beat Newcastle 50-35. Seminole beat Perkins-Tryon 36-35.

Little Axe played Newcastle, Seminole played Heritage Hall and Bethel played Byng on Friday.

Charles Heatly Classic at Lindsay

The Blanchard High School girls basketball team lost to Plainview 49-37 in the first round of the tournament Thursday. The Lady Lions played Pauls Valley on Friday.

Other Thursday girls scores: Weatherford beat Purcell 79-30. Mount St. Mary beat Pauls Valley 72-36. Lindsay beat the Oklahoma City Knights 87-31.

Friday, Purcell played the OKC Knights, Mount St. Mary played Plainview, and Lindsay played Weatherford.

The Blanchard High School boys basketball team beat the OKC Knights 76-40 on Thursday. The Lions played Weatherford in the semifinals Friday night.

Other Thursday boys scores: Weatherford beat Purcell 36-34, Plainview beat Pauls Valley 47-45, and Mount St. Mary beat Lindsay 46-40.

Friday, Purcell played the OKC Knights, Lindsay played Pauls Valley, and Mount St. Mary played Plainview.

Hinton Invitational

The Amber-Pocasset High School girls basketball team beat Hammon JV 52-23 on Thursday night in the first round. The Lady Panthers played Lookeba-Sickles in the second round Friday night.

Other Thursday girls scores: Lookeba-Sickles beat Harding Prep 47-42, Christian Heritage beat Crossings Christian 63-28, and Hinton beat Luther 64-30.

Friday, Harding Prep played Hammon JV, Luther played Crossings Christian, and Hinton played Christian Heritage.

The Amber-Pocasset High School boys basketball team lost 57-55 to Hammon in overtime Thursday night in the first round. The Panthers played Christian Heritage on Friday.

Other Thursday boys scores: Lookeba-Sickles beat Harding Prep 63-30. Luther beat Christian Heritage 54-52. Hinton beat Crossings Christian 68-40.

Friday, Harding Prep played Crossings Christian, Luther played Hammon and Hinton played Lookeba-Sickles.

Konawa Invitational

The Tuttle High School girls basketball team beat Holdenville 55-50 in the first round of the tournament. The Lady Tigers played Dale Friday night.

Other Thursday girls scores: Lexington beat U.S. Grant 64-10. Dale beat Strother 79-21. Konawa beat Wetumka 49-17.

Friday, Strother played Holdenville, Wetumka played U.S. Grant, and Konawa played Lexington.

The Tuttle High School boys basketball team lost to Lexington 67-55 on Thursday in the first round. The Tigers played Holdenville on Friday.

Other Thursday boys scores: Dale beat Holdenville 52-44. OKC Sky beat Strother 83-73. Konawa beat Wetumka 64-50.

Friday, Strother played Wetumka, Konawa played the OKC Sky, and Dale played Lexington.

Three Rivers Conference at Crescent

The Minco High School girls basketball team lost 61-43 to Thomas on Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs played Watonga on Friday.

Other Thursday girls scores: Okarche beat Crescent 84-40, Cashion beat Watonga 54-50, and Hennessey beat Okeene 47-39.

Friday, Crescent played Okeene, Okarche played Hennessey and Cashion played Thomas.

The Minco Bulldogs boys lost 43-42 to Crescent on Thursday. The Bulldogs playe Okeene on Friday.

Other Thursday boys scores: Okarche beat Cashion 68-53, Hennessey beat Watonga 76-56, and Thomas beat Okeene 43-30.
