Ninnekah High School lost to Sterling 13-2 in the first game of the regional at Sterling High School on Thursday morning/afternoon. On the bottom half of the bracket, Carnegie beat Navajo 7-4.
Sterling beat Carnegie 13-10 to advance to Friday night’s regional championship game. Ninnekah lost again, this time being shut out 11-0 against Navajo, and Ninnekah was eliminated.
Navajo played Carnegie again Friday evening to determine who would face Sterling in the regional final. If Sterling loses Friday, there will be a game Saturday to determine the champion.
Minco lost 6-2 to Hydro-Eakly on Thursday, but bounced back to beat Cashion and stayed alive in the tournament. The Bulldogs faced Hydro-Eakly again on Friday evening to determine who would face undefeated Amber-Pocasset in the regional final.
Amber-Pocasset beat Cashion 5-2 in the first round, then beat Hydro-Eakly 3-2 in the second round Thursday to advance to the regional final, and played the winner between Minco and Hydro-Eakly in the final Friday. If Amber-Pocasset loses, there will be a final game on Saturday.
Rush Springs lost 19-3 to Union City in its first district game in class 2A.
Tuttle beat Bethany twice in the class 4A district tournament, winning 6-4 in the first game and 16-4 in the second.
Bridge Creek lost 8-3 to Anadarko on Thursday in the district tournament.
