Am-Po gets comeback win over Ninnekah

The Amber-Pocasset softball team beat Ninnekah on the road Tuesday with a late offensive surge after being down one run in the sixth inning.

The Lady Panthers won the game 14-5 over the Lady Owls, and Am-Po head coach Steve Pelzer’s team is now 12-5 this season. Ninnkeah dropped to 1-12.

Am-Po scored seven runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh on its way to what ended up being a comfortable victory.

Laci Friesen went 4-for-4 at the plate. Ashtin Greene, McKenzie Croskey and Dakota Clouse each went 3-for-5, and Maci Brush went 2-for-5.

For Ninnekah, K. Fisher went 3-for-4, and Cheyenne Morris went 2-for-3. Lexi Cantrell went 3-for-4.

Ninnekah’s next game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at Central Marlow. Amber-Pocasset is scheduled to play Chattanooga in the Sterling Tournament today.
