CHICKASHA —
The Fightin' Chicks will be represented at the 5A state track and field meet at Yukon High School today and tomorrow in the season-ending event.
Friday, the girls 4x100 meter relay team will compete at 1 p.m. The team includes Kori Smith, Tawn Neidy, Dawnshaye Blakes and Chelci Oliver.
Baylee Williams will run the 100-meter hurdles at 2:35 p.m. Oliver will also run in the 100-meter dash at 2:55.
The girls 4x200 meter relay team will compete at 4:20.
For the boys, Zach Widener is the lone Fightin' Chick represented, competing at 3:55 in the 3200-meter run.
Should they advance, some Chicks will run in the finals of their events on Saturday. the boys 3200-meter final is Friday.
In field events, Blakes will compete in the long jump on Saturday at 10 a.m.
All times listed are approximate starting times, according to the OSSAA.
The 6A meet will be going on Friday and Saturday at Yukon also.
