Lady Chicks win three games at Chickasha Festival Cup

CHICKASHA — The Chickasha High School boys and girls soccer teams played three preseason games each at the Chickasha Festival Cup on Saturday, and went a combined 4-1-1.

The Lady Chicks went 3-0, and only allowed one goal in three games. The Chickasha girls beat Duncan 5-1 in an early morning game. Hannah Elrod scored three goals, and Kelsey Taylor scored one.

In the second game, Elrod scored four goals in a 5-0 victory over Lawton MacArthur. Taylor had one goal.

Taylor took over in the final game of the day, scoring all three goals in the 3-0 victory over Northwest Classen.

The boys played to a 0-0 tie with Duncan in the first game. The Fightin’ Chicks got the offense going in the second game, beating Star Spencer 6-1.

Cooper and Ryan Mosley scored two goals each, and Devin Warden and John Henley scored one.

Chickasha played last year’s state champions, Northwest Classen, in the final game. Chickasha lost 3-1, getting one goal from Warden.

The Chickasha soccer teams will host Piedmont on Thursday, with games starting at 4 p.m. The games were originally scheduled for Tuesday, but have been moved due to expected weather.
