CHICKASHA —
The Grady County Junior Livestock Show at the Grady County Fairgrounds came to a close on Thursday night with dinner, awards and a premium auction.
Goats, swine and cattle were shown earlier in the week by members of FFA and 4-H and other agriculture groups from around the county.
In a premium auction, supporters of the Junior Livestock Show participants put a bid on animal as a show of appreciation for the care that has gone into raising that anima, Walt Voss, President of First National Bank and Trust, said. Voss was there as a bidder. The young exhibitors can then go on to show the animals at other events.
Lydia Blaine sang the national anthem. Senator Ron Justice, who is also on the Grady County Fair Board requested a moment of silence for the late Charlie Brown.
Before the auction, buyers, exhibitors, family and friends enjoyed a free meal provided by the Grady County Farm Bureau and Jake's Rib.
