Mary Devieu (Hines) Brown, 86, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on October 20, 2012, in Oklahoma City. She was born July 2, 1926 in Binger, Oklahoma, to Roy and Myrtle (Compton) Hines. She was 2-1/2 years old when her family moved to Minco, Oklahoma. She lived in the Minco area until her death. She graduated from Minco High School in 1944.
On July 30, 1944, she married the love of her life and they celebrated 62 years together. Devieu retired from Minco High School after 27 years of service. She was saved a the age of 21 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of MInco. She loved her Lord and Savior and spent many years serving Him in her church and community. Se will be remembered as a din, thoughtful, loving lady who drew her strength from her faith in her Lord. She was a member of the Minco Senior Citizens.
Devieu was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Brown; her son, Billy Ray Brown Jr.; her parents, Roy and Myrtle Hines; brother, J.B. Hines, and wife Aliene; brother, Buford Hines; and sister, Juanita Blagg, and husband Ben.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Annecia Kay (BROWN) Pinkston and husband, Wiley, of Oklahoma City. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Darren Pinkston, Yukon, Oklahoma; Whitley Kendrick and husband, Kyle of Yukon, Oklahoma; and Tiffany Pinkston; two great-grandchildren Pearl and Ocean Pinkston; one sister, Dolores Armstrong, of Oklahoma City; one sister-in-law, La Verne Hines, of Minco, Oklahoma; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, at the First Baptist Church of Minco. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
