CHICKASHA —
Allen Byfield, who disappeared on Tuesday, was found at 2 a.m. this morning, on Ada Sipuel Ave. in Chickasha.
A nation-wide Silver Alert was put out for Byfield, who is believe to be suffering from Alzheimer's and was without his medication or cell phone, according to Sheriff Jim Weir of the Grady County Sheriff's Department.
Byfield was spotted at a toll gate on S. Highway 44 around 9 p.m. where he said he didn't have any money and was just trying to get home. A toll gate near Newcastle was already watching for Byfield in case he headed north. Alerts from Oklahoma Highway Patrol alerted toll workers that this may be the missing man.
Chickasha Police, Grady County Sheriff's Department and OHP swarmed the area. When Byfield was pulled over by an officer on Ada Sipuel, Byfield admitted that he knew he was lost and knew how long he'd been lost.
Byfield is home and in good health.
